The Puyallup Historical Society at Meeker Mansion knows that our strength lies in connecting Puyallup Valley history with current generations. Incorporating and becoming a 501c(3) in 1970, the Society saved the deteriorating Mansion from a planned burning after its use as a GAR retirement home and a nursing home from 1915 to 1969. Society restoration efforts began in 1973 and are ongoing with our collecting and archiving of local history to share with the public. Proceeds from memberships, donations and fundraisers continue to help with these kinds of efforts.
